Parvathy Jayaram: Ashwathy Kurup, better known by her stage name Parvathy, is an Indian film actress and classical dancer, who appeared in Malayalam films. Parvathy married film actor Jayaram who was her co-star in many films on 7th September 1992 at Town Hall, Ernakulam. After marriage, Parvathy effectively quit acting in films. She now lives with her family in Chennai. She has two children, Kalidas Jayaram, and Malavika Jayaram.
In Thiruvalla, Ashwathy Kurup was the second of three children born to Ramachandra Kurup and Padma Bai. Her mother is from Kaviyoor, Thiruvalla, while her father is from Champakulam, Alappuzha. Jyothi is her older sister, and Deepthi is her younger sister (deceased). She attended Devaswom Board Higher Secondary School in Thiruvalla for her primary education. Her mother taught math at the same school where she was a student. She earned a Pre-degree from Changanassery’s NSS Hindu College. This is where director Lenin Rajendran discovered her and put her in the lead role in a film that was never released. After that, she appeared in Balachand’s film Vivahitare Itihile (1986).
